When i think about doing vocalist work i dont want to worry about how i sound but i guess i do for the fact that i want my message to be put out there on my terms and how i want it to be expressed and if my vocals dont suit my songwriting i dont think its shameful to allow somebody else to use theirs.
On another note, i got a parcel slip in my post box today, I hope its my copy of 'Girls to the Front by Sara Marcus'...Kathleen says its a fucking amazing book so I cant wait to read it for myself :D

rant. part #1
SO.
I love Bikini Kill. I adore Kathleen Hanna. I hope I can one day meet her...I found out that on her birthday (November 12th) this year she turned 42 years of age, but Kathleen doesnt appear a day over 25! I think her strength is a contributor. Its amazing that the Bikini Kill Archive has been created, it is a brilliant record of photos, stories, quotes about the band and the era itself. Gives you a much deeper picture of what it was and still is, all about. And what we should learn and understand from. I dont think the music of BK can ever be replicated in such a raw way, however there are a quite a few vocalists and bands that exist at the moment which replicate what once was with their own unique style - like a modern riot grrrl fusion so to speak. I have recently been songwriting and would love to vocalize the lyrics in some form - spoken word pieces would be great to experiment with to get a different sound and atmosphere.

Home after a day shopping and picking up some f#@!ing amazing bargains!! My most treasured purchase is a roller skate-shaped aftershave glass bottle :D Had a fun time with mum. So yeah...:)

baby rabbit.
Our dog brought in a baby rabbit up onto the driveway, luckily it was not badly injured...I cuddled it to my chest with a blanket around us, its heart beating fast then slower and steadier as it relaxed in it's peace. It was sleepy so I bundled it up in the blanket in a box so it can have a night of rest. We hope to release it back into the bush tomorrow so it can return to its burrow, I wish it were possible to look after this rabbit, but its likely to have myxamotosis, so we cannot. Such a beautiful, gentle little thing.
